It was amazing to see that I could make contacts over paths up to about 150 kms with average conditions. The output power was around 0.3 watts!

The picture shows my antenna system as it was from 1989 to 1994. This was before I moved
to the current location. The mast was around 18 metres high and could be cranked
up and down. I used to be quite active on the microwave bands. The 10 GHz unit
was the most remarkable: the transceiver was mounted right at the antenna: no losses! It was amazing to see that I could make contacts over paths up to about 150 kms with average conditions. The output power was around 0.3 watts! |
At present, I have a very limited system: just an indoor dipole
50 MHz antenna. To be improved!
